Casing

Storage stoves, similarly to all furnaces and devices that burn solid fuels, are assembled or mounted at the destination place due to their heavy weight or overall dimensions. As a rule, the outer design of stoves varies in character, but it actively cooperates with produced heat and should enhance its properties. Tiled casing is the best option for TermoKaust stove. The device was designed specifically for this types of casing and vice versa.

Tiles for stove and fireplaces are associated with decoration of stoves and interiors from many years. We take into consideration their clean, aesthetic and ecological properties and all technical advantages during operation. Sometimes they are subject to particular taste, predilections or even artistic courage. Tiled casings vary in terms of their colour, type of glaze, size of tiles and design. Thanks to that diversity, we can create adequate atmosphere in the room or even place our stove in an epoch of our dreams.

The outer surface of the casing is always adjusted to the design of a particular room and enriches it.

Our experience suggests that our clients pay great attention to it. The stove is often placed in centre of the living room. Here, we take care rather of the fire and its symbolism for our families. These values are timeless.

Technical aspects of a casing are much more complicated. It is made of tiles that create walls divided by shelves, cornices, pedestals according to the design and motifs.

Tiled casing of the TermoKaust stove is a classic casing for a tiled stove. It can be produced in many versions. We would like to describe here one of that versions, which is recommended by our experience and comfort of use.

Average temperatures on the surface of a chamotte stove (uncovered) may reach higher levels than expected and that is why there must be a buffering partition, which is able to even or increase heat emission.

Tiles are made of clean, burnt clay, which is a little bit lighter than chamotte. Thus, it takes part in the described heat accumulation. Clay and stove create together the so-called thermal inertia system, which allows slow distribution of heat that was produced during violent combustion process. These characteristics are typical for all materials used for building tiled stoves. A notion of "hypocaustum" has recently been brought to life. It comes from heating system, which was used in Ancient Rome for heating houses and public baths. This system heats air that flows in a closed ceramic space - most of the time located below heat outlet.

A cover made of a chamotte furnace works similarly. It should be constructed with a special dilatation gap mounted between heating wall and rear side of the tile. The size of the gap (about 2cm) can be chosen individually, but usually particular sizes are required by manufacturer of the tiles. In case of TermoKaust construction, it has been taken into account at the design stage. A very hot air heated by the chamotte walls flows around and levels the temperature that is transferred onto ceramic wall. In this way, we can reach quite even distribution of temperatures. This in turn leads to a levelled vector of thermal radiation emission in all directions. Glaze ceramics heats air and us and that is why heating with the use of storage stove is healthy and recommended. It does not dry the air up and does not sinter dust. Hence, we should use the stove on a regular basis and avoid reheating it with high temperatures. Most of stove's bodies resemble rectangular prisms. Thus, corners and places located far away from the stove heat up slowly. In 24-hour regular combustion it is not that significant. The temperature distributes evenly.

We recommend such types of casing due to its technical advantages, thermal comfort, aesthetics as well as practicality. Keeping that kind of "furniture" clean should not cause any difficulties, and it's even just the opposite.

When you decide on another type of casing, please consult your decision with one of our technicians. We will recommend appropriate types of material and methods of construction in order to make properties of the stove adjusted to conditions of its future operation. Casings other than tiled change heating characteristics and energy emission parameters, hence we would like to provide you with tips on how your stove will operate.
